The 2025 Local 486 Open House

We are thrilled to have welcomed so many prospective students and their families to our facility during the Local 486 Open House! This event was a fantastic opportunity for attendees to get a firsthand look at what our apprenticeship program has to offer and what the future of Local 486 looks like.

A special thank you goes out to our dedicated apprentice volunteers who provided countless tours throughout the day. Their enthusiasm and firsthand experience helped showcase the hands-on learning opportunities available at Local 486. We also extend our gratitude to the friends and supporters of Local 486 who stopped by to show their encouragement and support.

With approximately 300 attendees signing in, the event was a huge success. Guests started their visit by watching a short video that introduced them to our program. Our Training Directors provided an overview of what students can expect when they join Local 486, highlighting the benefits of a skilled trades education and the career opportunities available upon completion.

One of the key highlights of the day was the school tour. Visitors explored various training areas, including the Drafting Room, Computer Lab, VRF Lab, HVAC Lab, and Welding Shop. These hands-on learning spaces give apprentices the skills and experience they need to succeed in the plumbing, steamfitting, and HVAC industries. Throughout the tour, attendees had the chance to engage with current apprentices and instructors, asking questions about the program structure, training process, and application requirements.

The Open House was a perfect way for potential apprentices to see what makes Local 486 a premier choice for skilled trade education. We are excited for the future and look forward to welcoming the next generation of skilled professionals into our program!
